My stay at Voco St James Hotel was marked by excellent customer service, particularly from individuals like Bob and Donnie, who truly enhanced my experience. However, I did encounter several issues, such as the inconsistent hot water in my shower and a neglected maintenance problem with flickering lights. The hotel's character and charm were appealing, but there were definitely areas that need attention.

Rooms

The room was clean and comfortable, but I faced a recurring issue with cold water during my showers, which wasn't addressed promptly by the staff. A flickering light near the elevator further dimmed my experience.
Service

The staff was friendly and eager to help, with nice interactions, especially with Bob French, who provided me with great local tips and assisted with my needs. Unfortunately, I did notice a lack of attentiveness in addressing some of the maintenance concerns I raised.

I appreciated the complimentary breakfast service, which added a nice touch to my mornings, although the selection was fairly limited with just croissants and coffee.
Facilities

While the hotel had some nice features like serene outdoor courtyards and well-maintained common areas, there were practical issues like parking fees and a dated elevator that detracted from the overall experience.

My stay had its ups and downs. The staff, especially Donnie P and Kentrell, were friendly and incredibly helpful. but the noise levels were disruptive, making it hard to get good sleep. The location was excellent for accessing nearby attractions, though the building felt a bit outdated and in need of repairs. Overall, there were nice moments, but I wouldn't rush to return.

Rooms

The room had several issues: the shower took ages to heat up, and the walls were quite thin. making for a noisy stay. There were also concerns about cleanliness, including rusty bathroom walls. Overall, it felt less than fresh.
Service

While I appreciated the attentiveness from staff like Donnie P and Kentrell, issues such as the lack of timely apologies or responses to my concerns were disappointing. They did resolve issues promptly which was a plus, but more attention to detail is needed.

The hotel is ideally located, with a short walk to the French Quarter and other attractions. but the noise from the surroundings can be a real downside. It’s perfect for those who want to explore but not ideal for restful nights.

I enjoyed my stay at Voco St James Hotel, impressed by the cleanliness and excellent customer service provided by staff like Bob and Jonquil, who were always ready with helpful suggestions. However, I found the breakfast options lacking and the nearby noises a bit too noticeable at times, which affected my overall experience. Despite these drawbacks, the hotel's central location made it easy to explore New Orleans, and I'd consider returning for the welcoming atmosphere.

Rooms

My room was clean and comfortable, though it could use better soundproofing as I could hear my neighbors quite clearly at times.

Location
10.0
The location is perfect for accessing attractions, being close to both the French Quarter and the convention center, making it ideal for exploring the city.

I was disappointed with the breakfast service consisting of just croissants and coffee; I expected more variety to start my day well.
Facilities

While the facilities like the outdoor courtyards are inviting, the lack of a more functional breakfast setup and issues like broken ice machines were a letdown.
